One day a group of boysDecided to have a raceThey chose to climb a great big treeAnd set off at a paceThe rest of their friends gatheredTo see the boys at playThey talked about it to themselves"Will they make it?" "No way!"They called up to the children"You'll never make it up that tree"But the boys just kept on climbingAnd said "just watch and you will see" But the others, how they shoutedAnd thought the boys tried to ignoreThey began to drop out one by oneAnother, another and then moreBut one boy kept on climbingAnd made it to the top of the treeHe never lost faith but believed in himselfAnd said "this won't defeat me"The others were quite amazedAt the squirrel at the top of the tree"How on earth did he do it?" they said"Well", said one, "he's completely deaf, you see"So the motto of this poem isYou can reach the top of the treeJust don't listen to what others sayJust believe in yourself and you'll see.........
